A huge congratulations to one of our students, Anna McCoy, aged 12, for her outstanding performance and achievement at the final of the Moving North competition. This is a newly launched dance project developed and organised by the Royal Academy of Dance for dancers aged 8 – 18.
Anna and Miss Kazia (her teacher and choreographer) had worked on this project since January 2015. There were 450 young people in 156 different acts who performed across three heats. Only the best acts were put through to the final.
Not only did Anna compete in the final at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester in July, she was awarded a special commendation and took her place as runner up out of a total of 36 acts featuring 120 dancers.
An excellent achievement – well done !!
